Manchester United established a new knot for the French team, Paris Saint-Germain, after it was dropped again at its " Parc des Princes" with two goals to one, Tuesday, in the opening round of the Champions League group stage.

The last confrontation between the two teams inside the stronghold of the Parisian team ended with a 3-1 victory for Man United against Saint-Germain in the second leg of the final of the pre-season tournament, before the Red Devils repeated their victory in the same stadium yesterday.

The last two defeats of the Parisian team in the tournament came at the hands of the men of the Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The first goal for United came from a penalty kick by Bruno Fernandez, but his French colleague Anthony Martial scored a goal by mistake in his team's goal, equaling the score to Saint-Germain.

Just 3 minutes before the end of the normal match time, Rashford succeeded in snatching the winning goal in the deadly time, to become a specialist in a hunter of opponents' net outside "Old Trafford", as all of his last 3 goals came in the European Championship away from home, including two goals in St. Germain's net.

Martial became the ninth player to score a goal by mistake against Man United in the tournament, making the Red Devils the most self-scoring team in the history of the tournament.

And after his goal tonight, Fernandez became the player to score the most goals from penalty kicks between the various stars of the five major European leagues since his debut in the Red Devils shirt in early 2020, with 11 goals, beating his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, the Italian star of Juventus, by one goal.

Despite the victory, Manchester United finished in Group H with 3 points, trailing Germany's Leipzig by goal difference.

Leipzig was able to beat Turkish Basaksehir with two unanswered goals, which were scored by Spanish back Angelino in the 16th and 20th minutes.

Saint Germain settled in third place without points, while the Turkish team came to the bottom without a score as well.

Group of draws

The two games of Group E were tied, as Chelsea, England, failed to beat its guest, Sevilla, Spain, by a goalless draw.

Rennes, the French, stumbled at home with a 1-1 draw with Russia's Krasnodar.

Rennes' lead came from a penalty kick in the 56th minute, before the Russian team equalized only 3 minutes later through Christian Ramirez, to get the entire group of teams one point each.

Barcelona, Spain, swept their Hungarian guest Ferencvárosi TC 5-1, on Tuesday, at the opening of the two teams' journey in the group stage of the Champions League, which came at the Camp Nou.

Argentine legend Lionel Messi scored the goal for Barca with a penalty kick in the 27th minute, to succeed in conceding the net in the championship for the 16th consecutive season.

Messi thus became the first player in history to achieve this achievement, while equaling with the Welshman Ryan Giggs, Manchester United legend, by scoring in 16 different seasons in the championship.

Giggs reached this record by scoring in separate seasons, while Messi beat him by scoring his goals in 16 seasons in a row.
